A lot of people hear "rent-to-own" and assume it works like the furniture store version -- high markup, confusing terms, and a process that feels designed to trap you. Our program is not like that. Banner Buildings handles rent-to-own in-house, and we have kept it as straightforward as possible.
Here is exactly how it works.
This Is In-House Financing, Not a Third-Party Lender
Banner Buildings manages the rent-to-own program directly. You are not being handed off to a financing company or signing up with a lender we have no control over. The agreement is between you and us. That means we have flexibility to work with customers in different situations, and it means you always deal with the same people who sold you the building.
This is worth knowing because it explains why there is no credit check. We are not a bank. We are a local shed company that offers this option because we know not everyone wants or qualifies for traditional financing, and that should not stop someone from getting a building they need.
No Credit Check Required
To qualify for rent-to-own through Banner Buildings, you do not need a credit score. There is no hard pull, no soft pull, and no credit application. If you have had credit problems in the past, it does not matter for this program.
What we do need is basic contact and identity information to set up your account and agreement. The process is simple and can usually be handled the same day you order your building.
Down Payment and Monthly Terms
The down payment for rent-to-own is typically $250 to $400, depending on the building. This is due at the time of order. Monthly payments are then spread over 24 to 60 months, depending on what you choose and what the building costs.
You pick the term that fits your budget. A shorter term means higher monthly payments but less paid overall. A longer term means lower monthly payments, which gives you more breathing room each month. We can walk you through the numbers before you commit so you know exactly what to expect.
No Early Payoff Penalty
If you want to pay off the balance early, you can. There is no prepayment penalty. Some customers start on a 48-month plan and pay it off in 18 months because their situation improved. That is completely fine with us. You save on the remaining payments and own the building outright sooner.
What Buildings Qualify?
Rent-to-own is available on most of our aluminum sheds and custom wood sheds. If you are looking at a specific building or size, just ask and we can confirm whether it qualifies. The vast majority of what we sell can be put on a rent-to-own plan.
How It Differs from Traditional Financing
We also offer traditional financing through Lendmark Financial and Foundation Finance Company. Those programs require a credit score of 670 or higher, but they offer $0 down and longer terms up to 120 months. Foundation Finance does a soft credit pull that does not affect your score. If you qualify for traditional financing and prefer that route, it is a good option.
Rent-to-own is the right fit if you do not want a credit check, prefer to work directly with us, or need to get a building in place quickly without the traditional loan process.
